Goshala

ISKCON's one of the main focus is on protecting cows. The Vedas teach that the cow is a mother to human society because she provides nourishment in the form of milk. Like a mother, she should be cared for and honored. The Goshala in ISKCON Sri lanka is situated in the backyard of the Gokulam Orphanage. The cows there have all been rescued from the slaughterhouses. They are now living happily in the Goshala without fear for life, providing milk which is used for the purpose of nourishing the orphan children.
